IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH WITH BASIL
 (5 easy to make recipes)

Basil has a long history of use in traditional medicine. It is believed that is native to Southeast Asia and Central Africa. Then it was introduced to Europe from India.

Recent scientific studies have established that compounds the essential oil of basil plants possess potent antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties.

Basil has better effect when is used fresh.

Here are some recipes for the medicinal use of basil:

1.     Crush well 6-7 leaves of fresh basil and mix it with 1 spoon of honey. Eat the mixture before breakfast for immunity boost and lowering hypertension.

2.   Take a handful of basil leaves and boil it in a liter of water. Drain the water and drink a cup every half an hour during the day. It relaxes the throat, sooths the stomach. You can also apply this mixture on your skin to stop irritation and inflammation on the skin.

3.   Add 5-6 leaves of fresh basil (or 1 spoon of dry basil) in two cups of boiling water (in a large pot). Remove the pot and while is hot cover your head with a towel and do a facial steam for 5-10 minutes. It`s good for relieving headache and clearing the facial skin.


4.   Add 4 spoons of dry basil to 2 cup of boiling water and allow it to boil for no more than 10 minutes. Take the tea and add it to your bath. This way you will relax and reduce stress.

5.    Take fresh basil leaves and make a paste, then mix it with your favorite hair oil. This can do wonders for your scalp. Rejuvenates the hair follicles, keeps the scalp cool, promotes circulation to the scalp, and reduces dandruff and itching.

      Caution: When taken in smaller amounts basil is safe. But if it is taken in larger amounts for medicinal use has some side effects. If you are pregnant, you have low blood sugar; have bleeding disorder please consult with your doctor before use.
