Good eye health can be maintained with good diet. Some foods promote and maintain eye health. As we age, our eyesight deteriorates naturally. However, with the right nutrients and some smartly chosen foods, you can help stave off that dreaded trip to the doctor`s office.

Nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E might help ward off age-related vision problems like macular degeneration and cataracts.

Some of the foods that promote eye health are: 


Carrots
Rich in beta-carotene and Vitamin A. Helps with cataracts and macular degeneration.  

Spinach
Very rich in Vitamin C and beta-carotene. Can prevent and slow down cataract, protects the eye from harmful blue light

Eggs
Contains Vitamin A, lutein and zinc. Good for preventing macular degeneration, cataract and improving night vision. 

Broccoli
Loaded with antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin that help your eyes function properly. Known to fight off age-related eye diseases.

Kale
Contains lutein and zeaxanthin, which promotes vision and health of the retina.

Citrus fruits

Olive oil

Blueberries
