THE MEDICINAL USES OF WILD STRAWBERRY

Fragaria vesca or commonly known as wild strawberry, woodland strawberry it`s a plant that grows naturally throughout the Northern hemisphere. Usually it grows on higher places, mountains, forests, and clear sunny places.

We all know wild strawberry as an edible plant, and we use it fresh and for culinary purposes. Wild strawberries are rich in iron, sodium, calcium, phosphorus, sugar, salicylic, lemon and tartaric acid, and vitamin C.

Besides the culinary uses of wild strawberry, this plant is also used for medicinal purposes.

Consuming fresh wild strawberry can improve your blood and is recommended for people with high blood pressure, can help with blood clotting, can treat throat inflammation. The fruit is also used in skin care products to strengthen the skin, to reduce wrinkles, bleach freckles and relieve sunburn.

The leaves are used for making teas that help with asthma, bronchitis, hemorrhoids (with external use), for stress relief, for blood purification, and to relief diarrhea.



Caution: Leaves from wild strawberries can effect the uterus, it is not recommended for use for pregnant women.
