CALENDULA
BALM
(How to
make it and use it)
Callendula officinalis or otherwise known as pot marigold,
ruddles, common marigold and Scotch marigold is a plant native to Southern
Europe.
The most common use of this plant is dermatological because calendula
has antiseptic, antibacterial and anti fungal properties.
It is used to treat dry skin, skin ulcers, varicose veins,
cuts, burns, wounds, hemorrhoids, acne, eczema, vaginal infections, fungal infections
etc.
Here is how to make calendula balm:
Ingredients:
40 gr. of fresh calendula petals (chopped)
½ cup of olive oil
¼ cup of beeswax
Preparation:
Place olive oil and calendula petals in the top of a double
boiler and warm over medium heat for at least 30 minutes. Leave the oil to
cool.
With a clean cloth strain the oil, press the herbs to get out exes oil.
Place the oil in pot and put it on low heat.
Add the beeswax
and stir occasionally until is melted. Pour the oil in a container, don’t cover
it until is completely cool.
