Honey is a sweet, viscous food substance produced by bees and some related insects. We all know what honey is, but lately there were some news about “fake honey” which is adulterated with high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). The main ingredient in honey is pollen and what makes this honey fake is that it doesn’t contain it.
Fortunately we all don`t have to be scientist to tell the difference.
There are some easy ways to test our honey and tell if it`s fake.
Here are some ways to tell if your honey is fake:
1.
Fake honey is more
light and runny than real honey.
2.
When heated
fake honey doesn`t caramelize, just
makes a lot of foam.
3.
Fake honey is stickier
than real honey.
4.
Fake honey doesn`t
have visual impurities, real honey contains pollen and bee body parties.
5.
The taste of
fake honey lasts longer than real
when we consume it.
6.
Fake honey has industrial
smell.
7.
Fake honey dissolves
in water very quickly.
8.
Fake honey doesn’t
crystallize over time, it stays pourable forever.
