HOMEMADE NATURAL DEODORANT
(Easy to make recipe)

Before we start with the recipe is important to know the difference between deodorant and antiperspirant. Deodorants control the body odor but not sweating. Body odor is actually the result of protein-packed sweat mixing with the bacteria that sits on your skin. So deodorants, including natural ones, work by reducing the bacteria on your skin to neutralize body odor.

The recipe

Ingredients:

3/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup baking soda
4-6 tbsp coconut oil
20-40 drops essential oils (this is optional, if you chose to add essential oils consider researching essential oils and add the ones that are beneficial for your skin)

Here is a link where you can find information on the beneficial properties on some essential oils: MOST POPULAR ESSENTIAL OILS AND WHAT TO USE THEM FOR (Basic health information on essential oils)

Preparation and use:

Mix the baking soda and cornstarch together. Start melting the coconut oil in a double boiler on low heat. When the oil melts, start adding the baking soda and cornstarch mix; mix it in with a fork. Continue adding little by little until you get a smooth paste. Add the essential oils if you chose to use them. Remove it from the heat and transfer the mixture in to a jar, leave it to cool and the close it with a tight lid.

Apply on underarms by scooping a little deodorant with your fingers or spoon. If you have a strong body odor it is safe to use it multiple times a day.
